Looking at credit score components, we can easily come up with a few guidelines for maintaining healthy credit: 
 
- Pay bills on time. 
 
- Do not close old accounts. 
 
- If you shop for credit, do so in the shortest time possible to minimize inquiries. 
 
- Don't open new accounts if you have established credit already.
